How incredible it is to look into the past, over a decade and a half ago, and remember how the Lord birthed this church family, Calvary Chapel Puerto Rico. Jesus clearly called Pastor Dan away from a thriving church in New York in 1998, to come to our beloved island and serve it's people by teaching God's Word and proclaiming the Gospel. Pastor Dan responded in faith to the call, and brought his wife and five children with him, to a foreign country, where they didn't even speak the language.  How beautiful it is to see the tremendous ways that Jesus honored their initial steps of faith, and their many sacrifices since then, for His Kingdom.

From the very beginning, Calvary Chapel PR was always led to be focused on Jesus Christ, His Word, His Spirit, and His amazing grace towards needy sinners.  Pastor Dan constantly engaged in personal discipleship and evangelism.  This gradually developed a strong spiritual foundation and men and women who truly knew and loved Jesus, but also knew and loved their pastor.  Despite many financial and spiritual obstacles, Dan and Lynda, were powerfully used to birth CCPR and develop it into a loving and dynamic church family, full of people in love with Jesus and His Word!

Dan and Lynda labored faithfully and tirelessly for well over a decade, touching the lives of thousands, and being used to bring many souls into the Kingdom of God.  It was through their leadership and mentoring that our current CCPR staff received it's training and development for the ministry and serving God's people.  Though the Lord has now chosen to move them back to Rochester, where they've planted CC Center City, their legacy and labor in this ministry continues up to our present day.  I can truly say that I know of no greater servant of Christ or man of God than my pastor, Dan Crespo.  He is, and continues to be, an exemplary model of servant-leadership and Christ-likeness in my life.

Now, in 2016, as Calvary Chapel PR looks to the future, we are still committed to fulfilling the same vision this church began with "To Know the Lord, and to Make Him Known to Others!" Through the weekly bible studies, children's church, radio programs, internet, outreaches, planting churches, and simply loving the people, we aim to bring those around us to Jesus Christ to find salvation and forgiveness, in Him alone. We continue to emphasize His Word, His Spirit, and His amazing grace in the lives of all that will receive Him.

We are blessed to see our CCPR family growing, both numerically and spiritually, as we continue to press on into what the Lord has in store for us. Jesus continues to add to His Church, as the Gospel is proclaimed and the Word of God is consistently taught to His people.  We believe that the best is yet to come for CCPR, and the Lord desires to do great and mighty things in the hearts of the people of Puerto Rico!

As I look back on all that the Lord has done, and I look ahead to all He has promised to do in the future, the declaration of Paul echoes in my mind:

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."  Ephesians 3:20-21
