Looking Thru God's Lens

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."

- Isaiah 1:18

Amazingly, under the right circumstances red can actually appear to be white.  A young boy discovered the truth of this one day, on a trip to England with his family.

One of the many tourist attractions that the family visited was the royal Buckingham Palace.  This is one of the famous residences of the royal family, and is ornately designed and decorated with the most beautiful architecture and gardens.

In front of Buckingham Palace stand the royal guards.  They are constantly on watch, and are world famous for their serious posture and statue like appearance, immoveable as they protect the royal residence.  These sentinels always wear their famous tall black furry helmets, complete with their beautiful deep red coats.

These red coats of the royal guards had caught the boys attention while he was watching them with his mother from a neighboring church building. He shouted out to his mother as they looked through window,"Look mommy, their coats are white!"

"Thomas, you must be confused." replied the mother.  "Their coats have always been red, just as they are now. Look again and tell me what you see."

Thomas did as his mother instructed him. "Yup, their coats are still white mommy!"

Confused, and a bit frustrated, now the mother stooped to her sons level to see what was truly going on.  To her surprise, Thomas was telling the truth from what he saw, from his perspective.  You see, right in front of Thomas, the stained glass window of the church was colored red.  As everyone knows, that when you look at something red, through a red lens, the object will appear completely white.  This was the reason for Thomas seeing the deep red of the soldiers' jackets seemingly change in color!

The same thing happens to us as believers in Christ.  Though our sins are "red like scarlet", died with the unremovable stain of sin, in Christ we are forgiven.  Just as the red lens of glass made the red coats appear white, so the red blood of Christ applied to our lives and sin, makes us whiter that snow in the eyes of the Father!

Do YOU truly believe this?  Do YOU really understand that though in your PRACTICE you may fail the Lord on a daily basis (as do I), your POSITION in Christ is one of perfection and absolute holiness!  The blood of Jesus has washed YOU completely clean of all your failures, mistakes, and sins. You are whiter that snow in God's eyes... perfectly clean, righteous, and holy!

Today, take time to thank Jesus for the shedding of His blood for you. Thank the Father for sending His only Son, in your place, so that you could be made clean from your sin. Finally, remind yourself that you have been given the perfect righteousness of Christ.  Don't allow yourself to be condemned by the enemy for your failures, knowing that in Jesus, there in now NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus! (Read Romans 8:1 and  Zechariah 3:1-5)

Look at yourself thru God's "lens" of the Cross... and be free in Christ!
